About the artist

Foli Creppy is a Berlin-based visual storyteller working in directing, photography and creative direction. His work focuses on intimate and unconventional narratives from West Africa and its diaspora, blending documentary, fashion and culture into a contemporary visual language. He has collaborated with global brands and artists such as Beyoncé, Converse, GQ and Vogue, and is committed to preserving and reimagining West African stories through film, photography, art and music.

About the calendar

TheTWAYNK (The West Africa You Never Knew) Calendar 2026 is part of Foli Creppy’s ongoing West African visual archive. Each month features a photograph captured across Benin, Togo, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal and other parts of the region, documenting everyday life, cultural identity and intimate personal stories.

Its purpose: to celebrate West African aesthetics, highlight the beauty of ordinary moments and give visibility to voices and places that are often overlooked. The calendar acts both as an art object and as an accessible doorway into a larger body of work. This includes his upcoming photography book and art documentary, which he has been developing over the past five years.

Together, the images offer an authentic glimpse into West African culture while serving as invitation for a warm and honest encounter with the people, places, and narratives of the region.
