Immerse yourself in a space for shared stories and imagination and connect with journalist and author Wenling Huang.

At this pop-up library, you find a curated selection of books in German and English that celebrate diversity, identity, and belonging, inviting you to browse and explore.

You can also look forward to an interactive program featuring a call-and-response affirmation and a reading by Wenling Huang in both German and English. A conversation with the author follows, offering insights into her creative work and the power of storytelling.

Whether you come to listen, read, or connect with other parents, experience the vibrant atmosphere of the museum and enjoy the focus on storytelling. 

The pop-up library is an initiative by Black Dads Germany and ZULA in collaboration with cultural centers and museums – designed for families with children aged 5 and up. This time, it takes place in the Café Bar at Fotografiska Berlin.

About the reader

Wenling Huang is a Berlin-based Taiwanese journalist, writer and translator. Her first book Who are Outsiders? was published in 2022. Her debut novel In Strange Places was published in October 2024.

Both books were chosen by the Ministry of Culture in Taiwan to be presented and promoted in the Books from Taiwan (BFT) 2.0 Program in 2024 and 2025 respectively.

She also won multiple literature grants, including Literatur Recherchestipendien nichtdeutschsprachige Literatur 2021 von Berlin Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Europa. Wenling is the author of the book We Were Wanderers written with ZULA, as part of ZULA’s Diverse and Inclusive Book Creation Mentorship Program.
