About the teacher
hannah goldstein, a multidisciplinary artist working across photography, collage, and video. She is rooted in feminist thought, challenging normative ways of thinking and addressing themes such as female histories, race, gender imbalance in the art world, etc.
Through her collage practice, Goldstein works intuitively with juxtaposition, repetition, and fragmented imagery, allowing her work to explore the love for photographic image and the desire to challenge and dismantle it. She uses the act of cutting as a form of both deconstruction and resistance.
She holds a B.A. in Photography from Bard College, where she studied with Stephen Shore, An-My Lê, and Larry Frank. In addition, she worked as an assistant for Nan Goldin and completed residencies and advanced studies at the Royal College of Art and the Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie. In 2024, she completed a Master in Education in the Arts at the Piet Zwart Institute.
Her work has been exhibited internationally, and she is represented by Jacob Hoerner Galleries.
